How to prepare everything for the baby and have it all in one place in your nursery

The basis is to buy a proper changing table for your baby. But who wants to unnecessarily buy a changing table, which can't be used at least as a chest of drawers when the child is bigger?

We have also faced this dilemma. That is why it was important for us to choose a changing table from which might be used as drawers in the future and will not go to waste.
In addition to future usability, another parameter for selection was the amount of storage space it would offer. For now, we don't have a big closet for the baby, and we wanted to have the clothes she currently wears available in addition to the cosmetics.
One of the changing tables that caught our eye and ended up buying was this one from Ikea -

The counter offered us enough storage space for cosmetics, clothes and other necessities for changing the baby's diapers and clothes. For better organization, we also bought these organizers from Ikea https://www.ikea.com/cz/cs/p/skubb-krabice-sada-6-ks-bila-00428549/ .
We used organizers both in the upper part of the changing table next to the changing mat, where we store baby diapers, perlan, basic equipment for children, and cosmetics that we use every day and in the drawers for clothes, cloth diapers, and other necessary things that
we don't need it every time we change the diaper.
As for the details of cosmetics and diapers, we will discuss them in details in the next post.

In the picture on the left, you can see the open storage area where we have a supply of wet wipes and clothes that we use the most at the moment. Because the weather is still beautiful, the baby wears the short-sleeved tops that are organized in this drawer. We use other binders, for example, for used pajamas, sweatshirts, and cosmetics supplies.

In the picture on the right you can see an example of the arrangement of the first drawer where we have
stored cloth diapers, clothes - long sleeves and booties, various types of towels, a supply of other wet wipes, and changing mats, which we use only when we travel somewhere.

We have other clothes organized in the bottom drawer. All sweatshirts, knickers, pyjamas, hats, socks and bibs. Why bibs for such a small baby? Sometimes after breastfeeding, the baby vomits a lot and this sometimes prevents us from changing the entire outfit. And besides that, we have the rest of the cosmetics stored there and some samples that we can't try at the moment.

Another integral part of each

they were buying the changing mat that can be seen in the picture above. We bought this one from Babyplace https://www.babyplace.cz/prebalovaci-podlozka-tvrda-klups-lion/?defaultVariant=70937 with a lion because there was no tiger. A similar changing table can be found in almost every baby store.
It is worth buying this firm mat, which you can use straight away for "tummy time" with the baby from birth and on which the child manages to be more upright than on the play blanket, where it can slide and cannot be resisted as much. Another positive is its easy washability.
Anyway, this mat also has its negatives, such as its size, which is not suitable for transportation. In addition, after the child grows up, it cannot be used for anything else and will take up a lot of space if you want to keep it in the future, for example for another child.
And what else do we need to change diapers?
Some cosmetics for the baby. I have another article on baby diapers. I use Pampers Harmonie, see the link below. To wipe the baby's bottom, I use Hipp Babysanft ultra sensitive, which are very gentle on the baby's skin, I usually order them from Dr. Max, but the last time they came out cheapest at Pilulka when they had it on sale for 129 CZK 4x52 pcs. It currently costs 179 CZK. We also need something to lubricate the baby's bottom, for that I have newborn ointment, bought at the FNO pharmacy. Someone uses Bepanthen Baby, which I also bought, but I only used it when the little one was scratched. So I do not recommend buying such a large package and ideally get a sample and try if the cream suits you.
When changing diapers, I use perlan if the little one poops. I originally wanted to use it to wipe my ass, but it's much more convenient to use wet wipes. If I'm changing somewhere else than at home, I have a small changing mat I carry in my purse and I also use disposable changing mats.
